SOLVIT – Innovation on Telecomunicatios, based in the Azores, presented the project ‘Custodian – Sensory Network Platform for Sustainable Fishing’.
This project is the result of an international consortium led by SOLVIT, in partnership with the AIR Centre, TERINOV, Lotaçor, Docapesca, the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, UAVISION and the National Technical University of Norway (NTNU), funded by the EEA Grants Blue Growth Programme, the company said in a statement.
Custodian aims to develop an ‘innovative system that will make it possible to protect the marine environment from plastic pollution, preserve marine resources through long-term management and increase fishermen’s income without exceeding the fishing effort,’ explains SOLVIT.
